Eligibility to play in the in the Loudmouth Shagadelic Open 2016.
Any amateur golfer over the age of 18 with a CONGU handicap certificate is eligible to play in the Loudmouth Shagadelic Open. You must be a golf club member to be eligible to play and the maximum handicap limits are 28 for men and 36 for women.
Registering for an event
Players must register for a Loudmouth Shagadelic Series Event by completing the online entry form. A pairs place is only confirmed once payment has been received.
Players must be aware of the etiquette of golf and behave accordingly when playing in an event. Any poor behaviour including swearing, arguing, club throwing will be dealt with by a Golf Days UK Representative at the event and could result in disqualification. The event will be played under The R&A Rules of Golf which players should be familiar with before entering. Players must wear Loudmouth Trousers or shorts to play in the event. Any disputes over the rules or behaviour should be referred to the Golf Days UK Representative at the event in which case their word is final.
The Loudmouth Shagadelic Series pairs event will run on the format as outlined below:
Pairs betterball stableford play with each player receiving 3/4 of their handicap allowance. The best stableford score on each hole from either of the two players will be put forward as the team score. After the round, the total points will be added together to formulate the pairs betterball score. The lowest scoring pair will be announced the winner of the event. All golf will be played from the ‘yellow’ or ‘tee of the day’ tees.
The top three pairs on the day will take part in a 130 yard ‘shoot out’ on the 18th hole. Each player will take one shot, nearest the pin wins and the winning shot will see their pair crowned the Loudmouth Shagadelic Open Champions 2016!
The maximum handicap for men is 28 and 36 for women. You must declare your current CONGU handicap when completing the entry form. It is a players responsibility to bring their current handicap certificate on the day of play. Failure to do this will result in the player not being able to play the event and no refunds will be offered.
Prizes will be awarded on the day for the top three teams. There will also be a some great prizes available for extra on the day competitions!
It is a requirement of the event for all players to wear Loudmouth trousers or shorts. All players entering the Loudmouth Shagadelic Open will receive a complimentary pair of Loudmouth trousers or shorts. Upon registering for the event you will need to advise us of your waist size and leg length (if trousers are chosen). Your outfit will be ready for you on arrival at the host venue unless you have opted to have your clothing delivered when completing the entry form.
All players must pre pay their entry fees before* the tee times are issued for the upcoming event. Tee times are issued via email 7 days prior to the event. Tee times are also posted on the Golf Days UK website. Any player who has not paid their entry fee will not be included in the start sheet and will not be able to play in the event. Payment can be made by the following methods:
Credit/Debit Card using our online payment system.
Credit/Debit Card over the phone.
Please note that a 2.5% handling fee will be added to all credit card transactions. Debit card payments will not incur a handling fee.
Number of Players
The maximum number of players for any event is 120. Should we exceed this number then Golf Days UK will endeavour to accommodate more numbers and this will be down to the discretion of the host club. A minimum of 20 pairs are required to run an event. Should this number not be reached the event will be cancelled and players that have paid will receive refund of any monies paid. In the event of a cancelled event, both Golf Days UK and Loudmouth UK will not be able to refund any pre booked hotel or travel expenses.
Once the tee times have been issued (7 days prior to the event) any pair that has paid for the event will not be entitled to a full refund. Should a pair enter and pay for an event and wish to withdraw before the 7 day deadline, then Golf Days UK will retain a 30% fee to cover costs. Refund requests must be made in writing and sent via email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
If a pair does not show for their tee time at any event, they will be disqualified from the event and no refund will be offered.
All events will be played off the white tees for men and the red tees for women.
Golf Days UK cannot be held responsible for the condition of the course.
If the course is closed due to bad weather/unplayable conditions, Golf Days UK will do their best to inform you prior to the day. If the course is closed on the day of an event, Golf Days UK will endeavour to contact you to let you know. If during an event the course becomes unplayable and the host course decides to close the course, the event will be abandoned. Golf Days UK will reschedule the event for a new date and inform all players. Should a player not be able to make the new date, a credit will be offered for any future events. Only in exceptional circumstances will a refund be offered.
Slow play will not be tolerated at the Loudmouth Shagadelic Open. All groups must keep up with the group in front and if they are losing their position, they must invite following groups to play through. Golf Days UK will marshal the course and encourage play to speed up where necessary. Groups who do not keep up with the group in front may be at risk of disqualification from the event.
GPS and distance measuring devices
GPS and distance measuring devices are allowed at all events.
Photos and Video
Golf Days UK/Loudmouth UK will be taking photographs and video footage of the action at each event some of which will be used in the event reports as well as for marketing the events through our website and media connections. Should you wish not to be photographed or videoed during our events, please inform Golf Days UK when registering.
