Goude gives the Links a Lashing!
On the second event of the Golf Days UK Essex Tour 2012 – The Race to Stoke Park, scratch golfer Kevin Goude makes a startling debut with a 5 under Par round on the Links Course at Crowne Plaza Five Lakes.
With 41 points Goude took the event from David Roth who came in the clubhouse with 38 points off his ¾ handicap of 14. Both Goude and Roth will be cut for future events on the tour. Third place went down to a countback as both newcomers Stuart Groves and Dave Parry scored 36 points. With a 20 point back nine the third spot was awarded to Stuart Groves. The first three places all got to choose form the great prizes supplied by Chris Potter Golf.
Also in the prizes was John Dunn with a stunning approach to the Par 3 10th hole. He was the first one to play the hole and no one could compete with his shot ending up a mere 18 inches from the cup. His brilliant shot was caught on camera and can be seen in the highlights video below. In the Race to Stoke Park players are competing for a trip to the world famous Stoke Park, Buckinghamshire to play the championship course and stay in the five star hotel. The runner up will receive a set of custom fitted irons from Chris Potter Golf. As it stands Kamal Lakhani is top of the overall leaderboard with his score of 67 after two rounds and Stephen Faulker giving chase with 64 points.
