Parry sails to victory at Three Rivers
The fourth event of the Golf Days UK Essex Tour was battled out at Three Rivers Golf Club on a warm Sunday afternoon in May. Dave Parry, competing in his third event, managed to hold off the competition and take the title with 35 points off his three quarter handicap of 14.
This result has catapulted Parry into fourth spot on the overall Race to Stoke Park leaderboard. The player with the best five scores over the tour will be crowned champion and will win a night stay for two and golf at the World famous Stoke Park. After the latest event Nigel Goude moves into the overall lead with his total score of 125 point. This is 10 points ahead of current runner up Craig Warren, who if he remains in second spot stands to win a set of custom fit irons provided by Chris Potter Golf.
Players also performing well at Three Rivers were second place Anthony Parkinson who finished with 34 points and third place Mitchell Wellington who managed 33 points. Newcomer Mitchell took third spot on countback with 18 points on the back nine over Rob Turner’s 16.
Nearest the pin went to Andy Sorrell on the Par 3, 9th hole and longest drive was awarded to Kevin Goude. Kevin launched a monster drive down the Par 5, 3rd hole and achieved a new long drive record for any Golf Days UK event with his 334 yard drive.
