3 out of 3 for Thomas as he continues his winning streak at Selsdon Park
The sixth event of the Golf Days UK Surrey Tour got under way at Selsdon Park as players battled to improve their position on the overall leaderboard. Despite topping his tee shot off the first, it was Kevin Thomas who continued his blistering start to the tour and once again took the honours at Selsdon Park. With 37 points off his 3/4 handicap of 4, he earned himself 100 order of merit points, a dozen proV golf balls and another £150 to spend on Loudmouth clothing of his choice. This was his second event that he took on countback finishing just ahead of Peter Boylan who also carded 37 points off his 3/4 handicap of 11. Third spot was taken by tour regular Dave Sclater with 35 points. Dave continues his good form on the tour with his fifth top 5 finish and puts him in second on the overall order of merit leaderboard. The two nearest the pins, on the 6th and 17th were both won by Graham Taylor. Full results of Selsdon Park.
With the best five scores counting, there will be big changes over the next few events as some players complete five rounds while regulars improve on theirs. The top fifteen players, completing a minimum of five events after ten will qualify for the grand final at Kingswood Golf Club. There they will battle it out to win a trip for 2 to the world famous Stoke Park, Buckinghamshire to stay in the five star hotel and play 2 rounds of golf. As well as that the player who has the best 5 order of merit scores after 10 will win a set of custom fit irons of their choice provided by tour sponsor Chris Potter Golf. Kevin Wellings remains at the top after six events with a total of 486 points, just 2 ahead of Dave Sclater on 484 points. Kamal Lakhani and Tony Brehme jump to 3rd and 4th spot with scores of 373 and 371 respectively.
