Thomas makes a winning debut on the Surrey Tour
After a couple of weeks of unseasonably good weather the Wildwood event of the tour was held in more traditional summer weather, overcast & cool. The stand out hole at the event was the challenging island like par 3, 13th Named “Splash” looming on the back 9. With the wind making club choice a challenge on this hole, the shot of the day was Bertie Chambers, putting his shot to within 8 feet. The other nearest the pin prize on the day went to Dave Sclater with another 8ft result.
Although the conditions were challenging, the winner was Kevin Thomas with a score of 35 points. Second went to Dave Sclater with 34 points; the final place went to Bertie Chambers scoring 33. To view all results of the event click on the following link. Wildwood Results.
A good day was had by all; the course was in fine condition even though the recently sanded greens made putting difficult. The next event on the schedule is the first of this years majors at Pyrford Golf Club on Friday June 7th, to sign up for this event click here
